His all time favorite gift was the guitar that Josh and I gave him.
I felt a little bit sad today as Aiden finished his last music class. He has been taking a wonderful music class once a week since last July with the greatest teacher, Miss Brenda. He enjoys every minute of his time and can't wait till the next week. His current session ended today and since the next session doesn't start until August, we didn't sign up because it would conflict with PRESCHOOL! YIKES! It hit me today that all too soon I will not just be giving up 30 minutes of our time 1x a week, but 2 1/2 hours of his time 2x a week! My little boy is growing up!
Anyway, today was so much fun. The last class of each session is parent observation day. So today I got to sit and watch what they have been doing in music class for this session. I always find it a relief to see that he follows directions, listens carefully, (well, at least most of the time), and just has fun.
What was even more of a relief was to see how much Kiera enjoyed music class. She joined this session for the first time and the first 5 sessions were a little rocky. Miss Brenda handled it so well and really put me more at ease than I would have been with any other teacher. Although, I do admit to still feeling a little guilty, nervous, and anxious to be leaving her when she clearly was feeling anxious herself. But today she went right to Miss Brenda, participated in all of the activities. I could tell by the look on her face that she felt like a big girl in with all of the other big kids. Of course, that does fit in with her belief that she is indeed a big girl!
