Slip -n- Slide FUN!!!

Since today was supposed to almost reach 90, I thought it would be a great day to break out our new slip -n- slide. Aiden and Nick were so excited and could barely contain themselves! As I was setting up the slip -n- slide I had to get a hammer out to pound in the stakes. As I am pounding the stakes in, Aiden walks up to me and says, "Mommy, you know how to use Daddy's hammer too?" Yeah. Obviously he has little faith in my abilities. He intently watched me pound in a couple of the stakes, nodded his head, and seemed satisfied that I was doing a good job! :)
As you can tell by the pictures, there is a sun at the end of the slip -n- slide that needed to be blown up. So after I pounded in the stakes I blew that part up, no problem, with lung power alone. After the kiddos had been playing for about 10 minutes, I realized that the rainbow slide part also needed to get blown up. I turned the water off. Of course, after an inspection of our garage, I couldn't find any pump. Being the dedicated Mommy I am, I grabbed a towel, sat down on the wet grass, leaned over the slide, and attempted to blow up the ENTIRE slide with lung power alone. After about 5 minutes, I was panting, red in the face and sweating. That is when my very sweet and very new neighbor came walking up and said, "You look like you are about to bust a lung! Do you need some help?" In comes the air compressor and 1 minute later, my slip -n- slide is blown up! My kids are extremely grateful and had hours of fun because of that air compressor!

Kiera decided to take a break after a few minutes in the water.

Aiden had tons of fun kicking the water.

Nick takes a great big slide!

Aiden loved this!

Look at Nick's smile! What a fun time! As you can see over on the side, Kiera is getting ready to do what she loves to do in the slip -n- slide.

Go Aiden go! AHHHHH! Here is Kiera. This is what she loves to do. She dunks her head in the spray! Crazy nut!

Here's the final dip!

After she dunks, she always rapidly wipes the water off her face.

Fun in the sun!

Best buddies, Nick and Aiden, take a break from the water to pose. Aren't they the cutest!
