The other day, Kiera came to me crying about her foot hurting. I asked her what happened and she led me to the couch where I found out she had stubbed her toe. We talked for awhile about how stubbing your toe hurts and how it probably surprised her. After our discussion, she seemed okay, and I asked her, "Kiss?" She lifted up her cute little face and proceeded to give me a big smacker.
Aiden was watching our whole exchange, complete with a silly smile on his face when it came to the "kiss" part. So I went up to Aiden with a silly grin of my own and asked, "Kiss?" He broke out in a huge smile and proceeded to run away from me with a giggling, "NO!" I laughed and called after him, "Oh Aiden, you are breaking my heart!"
Now Kiera was watching our whole exchange, and when I had said, "...you are breaking my heart!" She came running over with a concerned look on her face and said, "Mommy, me fix heart!" With that, she ran over, grabbed Aiden's toolbox, dumped it out on the floor, and looked for the appropriate tool to fix my heart. All with a very serious look on her face. I dutifully sat down next to her and she fixed my heart with a couple squeezes from the pliers.
Aiden came over in the middle of the procedure, wanting in on the whole game. So, we ended up spending a few minutes fixing hearts. Of course, during this whole process, I couldn't help but grin and chuckle, so soon, we were all giggling about fixing hearts with screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers!
Oh, and I never did get that kiss from Aiden!
