Ahhh!!!!

Tuesdays and Thursdays are school days. Usually that means that at some point I feel a tiny bit of frustration as I am trying to get the kids ready, myself ready, breakfast ready, into winter gear, and out the door without being late. Tuesday, however, was a very nice morning. I was feeling relaxed. The kids were cooperating and being so sweet and nice to each other. They were listening and eating a fabulous breakfast. When it came time to get our winter gear on, they put it on without dawdling, getting distracted, or whining. We were all just feeling good! It was wonderful! As I was helping Aiden buckle his car seat, he started up this very short conversation quite out of the blue.

Aiden: "Mommy, you love me even when I'm sad."

Me: "Of course Aiden! I love you no matter what. I will always love you."

A short pause....

Aiden: "Mommy."

Me: "Yes Aiden."

Aiden: "I love you even when you scold me."

another pause for me to gulp down the big lump that appeared in my throat and to give him a big hug and kiss.

Me: "Oh Aiden, that is so sweet. You are such a nice boy! I am such a lucky Mommy!"
