Baby Owen Charles has arrived!

Finally!!!! He has arrived! We have all been waiting so long for our little fella! On Sunday, June 29, at 3:27 am Owen Charles was born. As is normal for me, my water broke before I had any contractions that I could really feel. Of course, instead of waking up in the middle of the night to my water breaking, like it did with Aiden and Kiera, this time it broke right as I was taking Kiera to go potty before bed on Sat. night. We quickly got ready, took Aiden and Kiera over to our good friends Mark and Carrie for a fun filled sleep over, and went to the hospital. 6 hours after we arrived at the hospital, Owen was born.

Now, I know some people were placing bets on how big our little guy was going to be since Kiera was 1/2 ounce away from being a whopping 11 pounds. To be perfectly honest, I was getting a little nervous about delivering another 11 pound baby. I was extremely lucky with Kiera and had a very easy delivery, despite her size. But to get as lucky a second time around...the odds didn't look like they were in my favor! :) Owen weighed in at 9 pounds 4 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. Thankfully, the delivery was uneventful and smooth.

Owen is now 9 days old and is such a little angel. He is just so sweet. He is an easy going little guy and so far, doesn't cry much at all. He loves to be held chest to chest with his legs curled under him and his little butt sticking up. He is a very cuddly little guy.

Aiden is very sweet with him and completely adores his baby brother. He has definitely taken to the big brother role. Aiden loves to hold him and is always trying to get Owen to grab his finger. Owen gets lots and lots of hugs and kisses from his big brother. Just last night Aiden said, "Owen is going to be with us forever!" in a very happy and excited voice.

Kiera also loves her baby brother. She is still learning how to be gentle with him, and for some reason always wants to touch his eyes! :) She also gives Owen lots of hugs and kisses, although, sometimes it's to compete with Aiden more than anything else!

I held him right away after he was born, but they took him pretty quick to get him cleaned up. So I am finally getting a chance to really look at and cuddle with my precious little guy.
