Apple Orchard

First, I want to apologize for being so behind on my blogging. I am desperately trying to catch up, but time is going much, much faster than I am! So, it is February, and I am still blogging about September. I promise, I will be a blogging maniac these next couple of weeks and try my best to at least get to Christmas!

September brought our annual trip to the apple orchard. I love this time of year. We always pick one of those gorgeous Fall weekends were it is in the 70's, warm and sunny. It always feels so wonderful to be outside picking apples and enjoying one of the last really warm days of Fall. The kids have always loved our trips. They get so excited for the wagon ride (pulled by a tractor), and picking and eating their apples right off the tree. Actually, the kids do very little picking. The first apple they pick is automatically bit into and they chow on it down to the core. While they are chowing, very little picking is getting done. I end up doing the majority of the picking while they do a variety of things; watching, running, eating, enjoying the outdoors, and staying away from those pesky wasps that tend to magically appear as soon as you bite into an apple. Here are a few pictures from our time at the apple orchard.

The apples weren't very plentiful at the bottom of the tree, so Josh lifted Aiden up to get some really yummy looking ones at the top of the tree.

Checking out the tree.

One of those pesky wasps on Kiera's apple.

Aiden spent a lot of time eating his apple by the dirt road and watching the tractor drive by.

Yummy!!!

She was really enjoying this apple! I love this goofy face.

Oops...she accidentally ate part of the core and was trying to spit it out.

I came in to help out with the core retrieval.

Aiden enjoying his sweet apple.

Exploring the orchard.

Posing for a picture. As you can see, Kiera still has an apple. I don't think we have a picture of her without one. This is her 2nd one of the day. Aiden already had eaten his 2nd one.

Did I mention there are animals at the orchard to look at. Oink!!!

And huge bales that are stacked up on one another. Makes a great place to climb and pose for pictures!
