Brotherly love

As soon as Aiden saw Owen for the first time, he loved him. Aiden was so excited to be a big brother and took his role very seriously. Honestly, I thought that maybe it was a honeymoon period, that the newness of a baby brother would wear off. Maybe Owen wouldn't seem so special as time went on and as Aiden realized how much time a baby took away from him. But here, where Owen is just over two months, you can see the pride that Aiden has holding his baby brother.

But still, I thought that it couldn't last. Aiden was bound to grow tired of having a baby around. I knew Aiden would still love him, but maybe not find him so cute, so precious, so special. I thought that sometime soon, there was sure to be some resentment, some frustration, some dislike at having a baby around that might ruin his plans.

However, Owen is now 6 months old and Aiden still completely ADORES his brother. If Owen starts to fuss, Aiden is usually the first to run over and comfort him. Aiden will many times choose to sit and play with Owen as he lays kicking on the floor or is sitting in his exersaucer. In fact, Aiden is sometimes the only one who can make Owen smile, giggle, laugh, or squeal with delight! Daily, Aiden will tell me how much he loves Owen. He has even said that he couldn't imagine not having Owen around. Aiden is just so sweet, gentle, kind, and loving to Owen. There is definitely a special bond between the brothers that I find so beautiful. I am so proud of my two boys!
